Vintage Design
A commanding mahogany Victorian country house sofa in the manner of Howard and Sons. Featuring a wide, deep sprung seat with a stepped backrest and six large handmade duck feather cushions for added comfort. The sofa rests upon tapering mahogany front legs and is finished with original brass castors. Fully restored, the sofa has been stripped back to the solid mahogany pegged frame with a new coil spring base, padding, hessian lining, and calico coverings added. The sofa is now ready for re-upholstery or to be left in its current clothes if preferred. A wonderful and getting harder-to-find Victorian masterpiece! English, circa 1870.
