This revolutionary model used a few pieces of wood bent under steam, making the chairs light, durable and easily stackable, ideal for mass production. As its operations expanded into various European countries and the United States, Thonet consolidated its position as a leader in furniture design. During the 20th century, the company also began producing tubular steel furniture, collaborating with prominent designers such as Marcel Breuer and Le Corbusier, who helped define the aesthetic of modernism.
