Re-edition of the timeless ‘fauteuil 21’ chair. A design is only successful when a balance has been achieved between material, form and use. But the user or viewer must also be surprised and stimulated. Despite – or perhaps because of their simplicity and self-evidence, his designs inevitably attract attention and elicit a pronounced aesthetic judgment. Ruud-Jan’s work has been awarded several times nationally and internationally. A number of his designs are already considered classics and his iconic designs are included in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
