Vintage Design
Louis Philippe butler’s desk / chest of drawers made in Italy in the mid 1800s using walnut. The first thing that will catch your attention of this beautiful piece is the stunning burl walnut veneer; was just masterfully done: the symmetry, the colors, the grain, oh my it is just gorgeous! The dresser has five drawers, however, the top one opens to create a small writing desk with additional drawers. Below we find three, roughly equal sized, inset drawers. The last drawer is thin and found in the baseboard. All drawers show beautiful hand-made dovetail joints, and are decorated by gorgeous burl walnut on the fronts. The corners of the case are chamfered, as are the corners of the corners and edges of the top.
This is a gorgeous chest of drawers that can be used on a daily basis and will provide storing space, practicality and decoration all at once. The chest of drawers can be placed in a bedroom as well as in a living room or entryway. Its elegant lines allow it to work well with both modern as well as antique furniture, and its beautiful walnut color will add warmth to any room in which it is placed.
