Vintage Design
These chairs were designed with a clear influence of Scandinavian design. Their main design features are the curved backrests and bright red cushions that nicely contrasts with the light honey colour of the beech wood. Whilst you can see the shape of these chairs is based on the traditional Thonet style, the bentwood backrest is an early model of what will become a 1960s classic chair.
After some 70 years since these chairs were originally produced, they seem still contemporary, modern and fresh.
The chairs are in good original vintage condition. They have some minimal wear and some patina on their surfaces gained from their use over the years but are structurally fine without any damage to their construction. The old fabric has been replaced by an identical replica.
